Participants from a broad spectrum of disciplines, diverse backgrounds with varying aims and career objectives are admitted to the programme. However, they must be highly motivated and be able to work in a co-operative environment. An important criterion for participant selection is their pontential and aspirations for top management position and business leadership.

Admission Requirements

  • A Bachelor Degree from any recognized university. 
  • A pass in the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) like  examination conducted by the Institute of Economics, Yangon. This examination comprises three modules: 
    • English Reading Comprehension & Vocabulary, 
    • Logical Reasoning and 
    • Numerical Skills. 
  • Satisfactory interview results. 
  • Recommendation from two referees.
  • 8 Years Service as Management Position.
Notes:
Candidates sponsored either by state or business organizations must also meet the admission requirement. Since full time participation is required, all candidates of the regular course must have a two-years study leave from their organizations. Students who are currently attending any other post-graduate courses in any university cannot be admitted into the programme unless they provide documentary evidence of withdrawl from previously registered course.

      The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme is offered by the Department of Management Studies, Yangon Institute of Economics. The Online MBA is for people who for various reasons are not able to attend the full time MBA Programme.
         The MBA was originally designed to provide efficient managers to meet the growing demands of business and industries.
         The programme was highly successful, attracting participants from both public and private sectors. It introduced novel teaching methods such as the case method whereby interactive and participative approaches are used to give the participants the opportunity to develop their capabilities to the fullest extent. The program was expanded to include an evening MBA course aimed at working executives.Participants are required to have eight years business experience at the management level and be aged at least 30. The new prorgamme also introduced a business study misson to extend the overall perspectives of participants and enhance their knowledge and appreciation of the practical business environment.
